Hope that you all had a great holiday...
My day was spent going to my parents' house and eating a wonderful Thanksgiving lunch, and then going to my husband's parents' house to eat yet another wonderful Thanksgiving dinner.
I will definately be using one of the leftover turkey recipes, because we have quite a lot of turkey left.
My cake turned out really good, but I ate another cake that I thought was delicious. My husband's cousin cooked a German Chocolate Cake that is actually Trisha Yearwood's recipe. I found it online so that I could share the recipe with you as well. It is on Rachel Ray's website (http://www.rachaelrayshow.com/food/recipes/trisha-yearwoods-german-chocolate-cake-coconut-frosting/)
I would recommend trying it with the coconut frosting the recipe calls for, because it is really good.

Yummy! I'm a big chocohaulic, and not a big baker; but, neither is Racheal Ray, so if she can do it, I can.
Speaking of Rachael Ray, I tried a new recipe of her's that I saw on her 30 minute meal-one hour Thanksgiving special last week. I served it at the beginning of Thanksgiving dinner and everyone in my family called dibbs on taking home the leftovers! It was so yummy!
You can find it on Rachael Ray's website. It is the Pumpkin Soup. I omitted the apple cranberry spicy relish- and I served it with some sour cream and croutons in stead.
It was so silky smooth, rich, and creamy. All of the kids and even the most picky eaters gobbled it up (even my super picky father in law).
I pretty much followed Rachael Ray's recipe for the pumpkin soup, but I added crushed red pepper flakes and some cooking sherry to give it some extra layers of flavor. She adds hot sauce, but I liked the crushed red pepper flakes in stead.
I highly reccommend this recipe. Its fast, super easy, and layered with so many well-balanced flavors. If you try it, let me know! "Yum-o" :-)

Yum! I will have to try that, and I will let you know how it turns out. Thankyou for the recipe.
